A Blog of Notes is devoted to musical-sounding field recordings and ambient sounds. The sound files have now been licensed under the Creative Creative Commons Sampling Plus 1.0. Because they have tonal properties that convey a particular musical note or sequence they should be great for sampling, mashups, etc.
